Now I can't sleep all day

constanceI got a parking ticket today, parked outside my own house. I mean, yes, I was breaking the law, though I didn't realize that having two wheels up on the edge of the sidewalk was illegal here. But! A ticket! Outside my own house! From a police force which doesn't bother to ticket speeding in school zones! O, the humanity, man.
At least I wasn't the only one on my street to get one, though; the whole length of it, you can see soggy strips of yellow carbonless paper stuck under people's windshield wipers. And there's something else, too, that makes me not care so deeply about my parking ticket which I will pay immediately because I do not want to spend another night in prison ever again, and that thing is that I HAVE A JOB. I got called for an interview from my new best friend Tori this morning, went into the office this afternoon, talked to them for 45 minutes, and within a half hour after my return home, they'd made an offer. I start Monday, can you believe it? I HAVE A JOB. Let me say it again, in case you've forgotten: I HAVE A JOB.
