In which I ruthlessly jettison content
Nov. 20th, 2005 10:45 amI'm leaving for to see HP in the next little while, but I wanted to update quickly, because I know that some of you are waiting on various news and responses from me and I have not forgotten that--it's just that my body has rebelled at the sad lack of sleep I've given it this week (because I've preferred to stay up and stress) and I've therefore been spending just about every minute I haven't been working for the past two days either sleeping or fighting off sleep. And if there were a place at work I could hide to take a nap, I'd have slept there too.
Thanks to all the sleep, I'm feeling a little hung over and disoriented this morning, and also (on account of the fact that I am dealing with a juggernaut of a corporation rather than an individual, buying this house) no more edified than I was before the orgy of sleep. In other words, for those of you following The House Hunt and hungering for news, and I believe that there are at least a couple of you out there, there is no news to be had. We had a couple of contractors out to give estimates on the repairs I wanted, and now it is the weekend and we do not negotiate over a weekend because we are apparently too civilized for that.
So we wait. Ask me how I'm holding up. Go on.
:::
In other news, did you know that 19% of Americans don't brush their teeth in the mornings?? I read this the other day but can't remember where--Oh! I do remember, it was Glamour magazine--and it sounds like the most bullshit statistic I've ever heard. I mean, what? I thought everyone brushed their teeth as part of a morning ritual, but maybe I'm being hopelessly naive.
I ask merely for information, here: Does anyone know anyone who doesn't brush their teeth in the ack emma?
:::
I wonder if it's possible to smuggle coffee into a movie? Hmmm, off to work out the logistics of that one.

Date: 2005-11-20 04:28 pm (UTC)I mean, judging from the dental publications I thumb through at work, there are plenty of people out there who aren't brushing regularly (and their mouths are all being photographed in excruciating detail). But 19 percent? I can't imagine it.

Date: 2005-11-20 05:37 pm (UTC)My husband. He brushes at night and sometimes later during the day but not in the morning. It was a total surprise to me. But, it turns out, that eating breakfast cures morning breath even more than brushing your teeth does - so, it's ok. Really. : )

Date: 2005-11-20 09:17 pm (UTC)It is all so surprising, this new world of night-brushers!

Date: 2005-11-20 06:29 pm (UTC)But! I have never had a cavity and my dentist says my hygiene is excellent. So clearly I'm doing something right.

Date: 2005-11-20 09:20 pm (UTC)I can't imagine any wank starting here, though--I think you're safe, since only about six people read this journal--but if so, there is nothing wrong with skipping morning brushing! Glamour magazine says so, and who are we to argue with Glamour? Or, for that matter, your dentist?

Date: 2005-11-21 03:47 am (UTC)And Glamour only really says that 20% of people don't. I have a sneaking suspicion that perhaps 75% of that 20% have about two teeth in their heads.
