Quick note before braving the floor again

Hi! I am back from the nicest, most relaxing vacation I've had in years, and I am happy to be here in my home and in front of my computer posting to livejournal and catching up on everyone's news, but OH MY GOD in my absence the house has turned into a huge flea circus and I will dip the cats and bomb the house tomorrow but I cannot dip myself and I happen to be allergic to flea bites and so when I looked down at my stone-colored pants and realized there were about fifty fleas on them I freaked out and am now one enormous hive marooned on my bed and I have just taken two Benadryl and will be unconscious for the next twelve hours but in the meantime there is still luggage to get out of the car and I really really really never want to leave this bed again and I certainly don't want to have to put my pants back on and I feel horribly guilty about the cats although they seem fine.

The vacation was wonderful, though. Let's not forget that. Also I missed you.

I'm so glad you had a great vacation, but sorry that the fleas apparently had a break-in-and-reproduce-like-mad fest while you were away. Once you've bombed and recovered somewhat from the hives, you'll have to regale us with an account of your (relaxing!) adventures.

Okay, I have coated myself in Skin So Soft sunscreen. I have dipped the cats and left the dog at the vet because she's flea-free. I have poisoned us all by spraying this absolutely kick-ass spray around the house, and I have taken great pleasure in standing absolutely still for as long as 10 seconds without getting besieged. That doesn't mean I don't itch uncontrollably, but the itching's unimportant, man, as long as I don't look like a victim in a horror movie as soon as I stop moving in my apartment.

I have pined for you too! Next time I will take you with me--I think you'd like my friend A. very much.

I am expecting to have to spray my flea-killing-maching-aerosol several more times before the crisis is over. Probably my future children will be born two-headed and limbless, but if it means that the fleas die down, I fell it's a good bargain. I HATE FLEAS TOO. GODDAMN I HATE THEM.
