(03) Briggs Myers tests

Because I'm mostly an INTJ (I have tested as other types, but this is my most frequent result), I'm pretty much hardwired to like Briggs Myers tests, both taking them and reading over the results. It's science, but the roomy, theoretical kind! It's a system! A lovely, useful, flexible system! Mmm, systems.

Sorry, where was I? Yeah, personality tests. Do you find them rewarding or a waste of time? And who are you?

I'm an INTJ too! And I'm also completely fascinated by pretty much any kind of test there is.

I think it's hilarious that supposedly, we're just about the rarest type out there, and yet there are three of us on my tiny DW reading list! I think the internet is just sort sort of ideal for us, though -- so maybe not really surprising, once you think about it.

When I was envying both your Bread and Jam with Frances lunch plans and your architecture, I should have figured you were an INTJ like me!

If only we lived near each other, we could rule the world, Res! Or at least we could if we were in any way interested in ruling.

And! Oh my, that Frances lunch. That was one of my favorite activities ever -- maybe I should set up a Book Meal project, where every day I eat a meal described in literature. :?

Um. Wow. I've read about these in passing and been skeptical, but I've never taken one before today, and I'm a bit blown away. The description of your type is exactly in line with everything I know about you (which granted is not much, but still it's impressive). And the description of mine (INTP) is all so perfectly true of me that it kind of makes my head spin. The odd thing is that each type's description is so detailed and specific, and none of the others fits for me, or for what I know of you -- only the ones we've scored as.

In other words, just like you, I am reacting to this system exactly as my type's description predicts: I'm fascinated by its shiny subtlety and complexity and I want to poke it and learn all about how it works, even if said knowledge might ultimately not prove useful in any practical way. Now that's spooky. *readies wheelbarrow for another library trip*

It really is fascinating, isn't it? As I said to someone on my lj post, I've never seen a personality test run so eerily accurate before. I suppose there must be people who took it and said, hmmm, this really doesn't describe me at all, but I've never personally spoken to one.

I haven't delved too deeply into the Briggs Myers theories before, but you're sort of inspiring me! Maybe I'll make a trip to the library as well.
