I've been meaning to write, but now that I've become suddenly and unexpectedly rich (THANK YOU EBAY OMG), I haven't been able to work on anything more taxing than converting my new paypal virtual money into actual dollar bills so I can roll around naked in them, sorry about that.

And I had already decided to buy a new DIY-style computer with my funds, whatever they turned out to be, because, well, I'm such a geek. And since it's turning out that I can afford something much nicer than I'd originally been planning to get, any time not spent rolling around in dollar bills or otherwise gloating over my newpaid wealth has been spent configuring my wishlist on newegg, and then reconfiguring and reconfiguring again. Fingerprint recognition system? Tiny form factor? Yeah, baby, YEAH! Or wait, maybe the multifunction card reader instead! Or an extra hard disk! I may never actually get the money spent because this part is so much fun that I'm reluctant to commit myself and lose the pleasure of anticipation, the seduction of working up to making a choice.

And God. Looking back at those two paragraphs, I think it's probably for the best that in general I have not been blessed with profound riches nor a talent for earning them. Also that I don't have much else that I can sell on ebay.

I've missed you, but I'm happy you seem to have been keeping yourself occupied :)).

Oooh, spare parts porn. The endless possibilities of periphery! Get them ALL! And a diamond-studded mouse.

Hello! Hello! I guess there've been a few other things I've been doing -- work and stuff -- but these are the important things! :D

I don't think I can get them all, but I'm working on getting as much as I can.

That's wonderful news. I'm so jealous. You will post all the specs, yes?

Ohhh, you are going to be so sorry for giving me this license! But yes, certainly I will!

Oh, hurrah for E-Bay earnings! There's just nothing like rolling around naked in money! Or so I've always imagined, anyway.. :D

I'm with [livejournal.com profile] wishwords- post the pecs of whatever you end up treating yourself to. I'm not as tech-savvy as you are, so your choices will be especially educational. We're thinking of buying a new computer with our tax refund (after the naked rolling, of course) and we always go into it so blindly. Plus, you know, it's kind of sexy to hear someone who knows about these things discuss multifunction card readers.

Trust me, everything good you've ever heard about rolling around in money is totally true! As an exercise, I recommend it highly.

Once I get everything sorted out, I'll be happy to whisper sweet nothings about IDE v. SATA, and the erotic possibilities of overclocking. Honestly, I find it all pretty sexy too. :D

By the way, you may tell Brooke that she's right about the teen years not being a vale of tears for a full decade. I used the word for maximum effect, but really, I found that life suddenly got immeasurably easier for me (and therefore for everyone in my whole family) once high school was over. So really it's more like six years or so that the V of T is fully operational.

I will look forward to the sweet nothings and I'll bet they'd lose none of their erotic charge if you choose to dumb them down for those of us at the remedial level.

Brooke will be jubilant to hear that she was right about the VoT not lasting a full decade. The getting-easier-after-high-school seems to be the rule of thumb for most people, except for those who have a thrilling, fabulous high school career and then find college a letdown, but at least they're not around to inflict that angst on their parents!

And yes, it is a new icon! I generally don't go in for photos-of-celebrities-as-icons, but I couldn't resist that picture.

Excellent post title, by the way.

Hee! Today has been a Pink Floyd theme day, kind of by accident, although I guess that probably goes without saying, because who plans a Pink Floyd theme day? Between my subject line and my ipod and my radio, I've heard a total of about six of their songs today.

Yay! I've missed reading your posts. What did you sell? You know, you could make one computer for you, and make one computer to sell on ebay, making more moneys.

Also, how come you aren't on the Diva swap on Paperbackswap? You need credits?

I've missed you too! :D:D:D

I sold a lot of video games, and made some money off that, and then my old flatware, which was a little too ornate for my tastes, but which turned out to be surprisingly collectible, who knew? I've been thinking about other stuff I might sell, but really after the flatware things might be a little anticlimactic.

I just started looking for old silver flatware, and it's so expensive I totally can't afford sterling. I need to marry the only son of someone who has an entire set. he should be fantastically gorgeous, generous and independantly wealthy as well.

Also, the making and selling computers is really a pretty good idea. I'll have to think hard about that one. Thanks!

Oh, and I am just going to spam you with comments all afternoon, okay?

I forgot to say, though, that I don't know what the Diva Swap is! :O

Not spam. Have you been in the games section of the Paperbackswap forums? There are lots of swaps (like Secret Santa at christmas) where people send each other books or other stuff. I love getting mail, so I signed up for a bunch.
