*gets out X-Acto knife and metal ruler*
Nov. 29th, 2007 06:16 pmThe surprising number of people who want a handmade card from me (step up here if you want a card and haven't asked for one yet), they are making up for the fact that an equally surprising number of people want a non-explosive card, which has kind of spoiled some of my holiday plans, but hey, I am nothing if not adaptable, and as we all know, I aim to please.
I am very excited -- no lie -- to be able to make cards for people. I don't think I've said more than nineteen times in this space how much I adore papercrafts, so it bears repeating now, and though I am no Peter Callesen, and though I haven't made anything for a while, I shall do my best not to disappoint.
:::
Also, I did this last year, or maybe it was the year before, and I think I might make it a tradition. In case you were wondering what to get me.
01. authority
02. patience
03. a windy spring day
04. a Sunday afternoon with absolutely nothing to do
05. an uninterrupted conversation
06. a thunderstorm
07. a four-leaf clover
08. a compliment
09. a reprieve from gravity (temporary or permanent)
10. amnesty

Bobbie Faye's Very (Very Very) Bad Day
Publish and Perish (James Hynes)
Straight Man (Richard Russo)
The Body Project (Joan Jacobs Brumberg)
I also like Alice Dreger's writing and books about food.
I should note that I hated Middlesex (Jeffrey Eugenides) and the His Dark Materials series. Jury's still out on Paolini's Eragon series; the books are too Tolkien-esque, and since I need a distinction between what I read for fun and what I read for work, I can't handle that much detail from my fun reading. Which also means I don't like Tolkien.
But really, don't feel compelled to send me anything.
