At the grocery today, my path kept crisscrossing another family's: a mother, two teenage daughters, a girl of about ten, and a mullet-sporting (-spouting?) child of indeterminate sex, all arguing or otherwise haranguing each other in a way I might've found much more disturbing if the mother hadn't sounded exactly, but exactly, like Joy from "My Name Is Earl." As it was, every time I passed them on my way down an aisle, I had to fight a completely inappropriate urge to giggle. Inappropriate because (as I have learned the hard way) you don't laugh at arguing people, and also because I have no doubt that even though the mother was half my size, she could probably have taken me with one hand duct-taped to the top of her head. No one with a voice like that is helpless, I tell you.

How awesome is living in the south? More awesome than I could ever manage to express in one lonely lj entry.

By "crisscrossing" what you mean is that after the first time you heard them you made it your duty to stalk them through the aisles. I'm on to you.

:O HELLO!

Are you sure you don't mean "sprouting"? Also, where are you from?

Hey, "sprouting" will work too! Clearly, the mullet is every bit as versatile as its proponents claim.

I live in Georgia, in the USA, about an hour south of Atlanta. And where are you from?

Hi sweetie! Sorry I missed you the other week. I've been meaning to drop by but I had a horrible time last week at work and couldn't face lj. Could only cope with mindless entertainment in my time off :D. Things are better now only I have a cold :/. I'm very impressed with this posting every single day thing you're doing btw.

PS Just read this fab story: http://candle-beck.livejournal.com/108831.html

Hi, hi, hi!

I thought of pretending to manfully overcome my hurt at your desertion, but the sad truth is that I was thinking it was this weekend that we were going to try to chat, and yesterday I was over at my parents' for the afternoon, so I thought I was going to have to apologize. I guess that makes us even, right? Let us move on, then.

I'm so sorry you have a cold! You've had a rotten year, health-wise, it seems like, and I hope you at least get a break from it over the holidays. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Let me know when you're feeling better and we can try to get together then.

Yes. Nice. Ahem. I recall she used to write the most delightful West Wing Josh/Sam-on-the-campaign-trail fics.

Have you caught up with the new season yet? My fave so far was ep 4 because I enjoy the funny ones (being into shallow thrills, and all). I've got to say, I know I'm a Dean fan, but Sam has been great lately. I don't know whether JP's acting's improved or whether the character's in a more interesting place. Perhaps both, but whatever, I love Sam at the moment.

Call it even. Next Sunday?

I am still stalled out on ep 1 -- I don't know what my problem is! I have them all downloaded and everything, but for some reason all I'm doing anymore is watching things I've already seen twenty times. (Right now, Jeeves and Wooster is playing in the background.)

Ooh, Sunday, sounds good! :D
