Because I don't kill enough time online
Oct. 25th, 2007 01:52 pmI signed up today for NaBloPoMo. What possessed me, I hear you asking? Well. I had this thought in the back of my mind that committing to writing every day for a month would get me back into a habit I've been out of for several years now. (I'm thinking this is something like buying clothes two sizes too small as an incentive to lose weight, which everyone knows doesn't actually work, but.)
What can I say? I miss the days when I had something to say and was just happy to get it out there, floating around, whether anyone read it or not.
:::
My paid account recently lapsed, and I did know it had lapsed -- I am lazy and also poor -- but I only just realized that a basic account does not include image galleries, and now all my images are gone. I am kind of sick about this, since I had hundreds of images posted there, and I am so mad at livejournal I'm going to start hosting photos elsewhere, even if I do ever get around to renewing my account. So I have a question for you: Photobucket or Flickr, and why?

Date: 2007-10-25 08:32 pm (UTC)I also use Flickr for RL photos! I agree about the uploadr and the tagging system. One thing though, is that if you don't get a paid account there, you can only upload a maximum of 200 photos, I believe. Well no that's a lie, you can upload more, but any photos over the 200 mark go into hiding. For every new photo you upload, the oldest photo in view goes into hiding. They're all still there but without the Pro account, you can't get 'em.
So you would probably be better with Photobucket? I have a couple of those, too, and for direct linking, etc, they are swell.

Date: 2007-10-26 04:50 pm (UTC)It'll take me a while to get to 200 photos on flickr, since I don't take as many photos as I should, but I'll keep the limit in mind. Maybe by the time I get to 200, I'll be able to swing a pro account!

Date: 2007-11-03 04:35 am (UTC)Of course if you don't want to pay, there is no reason why you couldn't just keep opening new free accounts, Tofty01, Tofty02, etc., to keep things all in line. I went for the paid account within two weeks because I am a database maniac and free accounts only get something like three sets.
