2. Referral doctor not accepting my bleeding POS insurance


3. Earliest appointment available with insurance-assigned doctor: December


4. Other doctors given to me by handy 1-800 nurse line not accepting walk-ins


5. Urgent Care facilities not in my POS network


1. Available with $1000 deductible


2. I do not have $1000 and if I did would not want to spend it on my little toe


3. Only viable option is to visit local emergency room


1. Feel like a total fool flouncing in to ER with a bruised baby toe


2. Do not want to be the reason why GWB says we as a people overuse our health care privileges but cannot seem to avoid it on this occasion


3. Must wait till payday--tomorrow--to go, because all discretionary cash spent on donations

I didn't go to the ER -- my toe is looking as though it is on the mend today. The swelling has gone down, and the bruises look just bruised instead of angry and red around the center, and the numbness is gone. SO. FUCK YOU GEORGE BUSH I HAVE MAINTAINED MY HEALTH CARE MORAL HIGH GROUND WITHOUT SACRIFICING A TOE.

I would tend to the doubt that the New Dog will be in my clutches by the time you come, because my coworker T is finding it hard to let go--I would too--and so though I think that I will be getting the dog, it might be a few more weeks before I do. We'll see, though.

It's too bad you can't have pets in your apartment--otherwise you could just take her home with you!

I'm glad you accept my apology. It's not that I don't believe you; the problem is that I INSTANTLY DO BELIEVE YOU and then I panic and it usually turns out to be something not quite as bad because I have exaggerated the symptoms or misstated them somehow.

I have just called the realtor and left a message for her. I will see that house! And also another one which is not quite as adorable but which is also in my price range and is, it looks like, in slightly better shape. shall I introduce you?

It is better! Still a bit sore, especially if I'm doing a lot of walking, but the swelling's down and it doesn't look like it's about to fall off.
