A little link roundup for you. And also me.

  1. A little something for the Eminem fans on my flist

  2. Someday, you must remind me to tell you of my eye-opening very first trip to Big Lots, where much useful stuff was bought in Extra-Big American Bulk Packages, and also something not very useful but much desired in the form of a metal box containing 56 gel pens. I am planning a scanned and decorated post showcasing this particular purchase (as opposed to, say, the Drano, which though useful does not scan as well), but that will wait. (And it is not a link, but oh well.)

  3. Have you ever wondered where you might buy wax lips and Pez dispensers and candy cigarettes in bulk? Look no further.

  4. Tonight I was poking around the Internet, as one does on Friday nights when one is I, and I accidentally stumbled across THE CREEPIEST VIDEO OF ALL TIME AAAAAH IT IS WORSE THAN A CRONENBERG FILM (Warning: do not click that link if you are not in the mood to be most seriously disturbed). In an effort to bleach my brain, I've been hunting down some old favorites:

    Strindberg and Helium

    Kunstbar

    Bothering Snape

    Craziest

    Diversity

    Field Guide to Snapping

And they are all much beloved, but I wonder, are they quite enough to erase the damaging effects of Rubber Johnny? I don't know, I just don't.

So I am wondering if there are any little video clips or flash movies or such like that you feel like sharing. NOTHING CREEPY, IF YOU PLEASE! Because I am already going to have nightmares.

I love Rubber Johnny, I wanna get the dvd. Aphex Twin combined with Chris Cunningham, you can't lose.

Here's a video clip.

I AM NOT CLICKING THAT LINK. I KNOW WHAT IT IS, O TREACHEROUS FIEND.

(Supposedly, the book that comes with the DVD is even more disturbing!)

Okay, that clip is a little disturbing. :| Rubber Johnny didn't freak me out as much as I thought he would, because as soon as he started rave-dancing in his wheelchair, I busted up. I'm reading an interview with Chris Cunningham now, and he mentions the Come to Daddy video! You have to love that shit.

Hmm, well, maybe I am the only one freaked out? The, like, RIPPED FLESH SQUISHED AGAINST THE LENS GLASS didn't disturb? But then, I was freaked out for weeks by The Blair Witch Project as well, and no one else, in retrospect, seems to have been so that probably says something about me.

Ahahaha, oh no, I was one of those people who TOTALLY THOUGHT THE BLAIR WITCH WAS REAL! I worked with a dude that summer who also totally bought into it, and he would sit across from me and freak me out with little tidbits of information about it. I saw it opening night, AT MIDNIGHT, AS A SORTA-BLIND DATE (as in, I had met the dude once before at a punk show and his friends were like, CALL THAT GIRL AND ASK HER OUT, but I barely knew him so, coffee and movie sorta-blind date). There were points during that movie when I was IN his lap, I was so terrified. AND THE END, WITH THE GUY IN THE CORNER? I KNOW IT IS COMPLETELY FAKE BUT I STILL CANNOT WATCH THAT MOVIE.

So. *coughs* I feel you there. Like I said, the beginning of Rubber Johnny twitched me out; it was the dancing in the wheelchair, though, that convinced me how fake it was. THAT was interesting. :D

The thing that makes my attitude toward Rubber Johnny--and The Blair Witch Project also--so stupid is that I knew all along they weren't real. But that doesn't really matter to me--I get all creeped out anyway.

I have to admit, though, that even in the midst of the glowing devil eyes and the freaky staccato fast-mo and the bits of flesh, there were parts I thought were funny too. Like the fact that whenever the door to the basement opens, he's sitting innocently still. Or when he gets started in earnest and he snorts whatever it is he's snorting.

STILL THOUGH! *shivers*

You should check out Window Licker too, that's the other video Aphex Twin and Chris Cunningham collaborated on.

Have you seen www.muffinfilms.com ? It's not creepy, and there are two other series in addition to the movies about muffins- "Big Bunny" and "Making Fiends", all NOTHING LIKE Rubber Johnny.

Which one? Rubber Johnny? It's completely wigged out and TOTALLY WRONG, but I doubt you'd regret it!

I have to tell you, toft, that Chris decided he wanted to see the video after hearing that it was an Aphex Twin song, and so I wandered across the room to avoid seeing it (the 'I'm scared of Ghostbusters' wimpiness), and even the music/noises themselves are creepy in that one. But the Potter Pupper Pals cheered me right up, thanks.

Sorry for stupidity!

Aren't Potter Pals brilliant? There's another one, too, here (http://www.freeonlinegames.com/play/1269.html).

I think your wimpiness is cute--plus, it makes my wimpiness look like bravery. :D
