I've seen this done as a five-list and a six-list, but since [livejournal.com profile] littlemissloony tagged me specifically, we'll do it her way. Kind of.

These are actually the songs I listen to the most, but it is involuntary; my officemate has control of the radio and we listen to the radio stations she likes best, and even when I'm trying to listen to my iPod, this music bleeds in around the edges:

"Don't Cha" - Pussycat Dolls
"Speed of Sound" - Coldplay
"Since U Been Gone" - Kelly Clarkson
"Your Body Is a Wonderland" - John Mayer
"I Don't Wanna Be" - Gavin DeGraw
"You and Me" - Lifehouse

And when I'm listening to my iPod, I tend to either listen to everything on shuffle or look for entire albums (because I am super lame and obsessive-compulsive and like to listen to songs in context and in order). So here are six albums I've been pulling up a lot lately:

The Swimming Hour - Andrew Bird's Bowl of Fire
The Best of Elvis Costello and the Attractions
Dressy Bessy - Dressy Bessy
Irresistible Bliss - Soul Coughing
Rum, Sodomy, and the Lash - Pogues
Oh, Inverted World - The Shins

Also, consider yourself tagged, if you haven't done it yet.

On a more personal note, I fell asleep with wet hair last night and woke up this morning in such a state. I cannot even describe the condition that my hair was in; not even a straightening iron was quite enough to soothe the odd bulges and poofs, and so today I am wearing four randomly placed decorative bobby pins to HOLD IT ALL DOWN LIKE NORMAL-PERSON HAIR. So far no one has mentioned my pins, so either I've done a decent job at placement, or everyone is too polite to say anything.

I listen to my iPod in the exact same way, though the only things I can ever put on shuffle are playlists, which I specifically design to be played in any order. mmmm, ocd.

Gah, are they still playing Your Body is a Wonderland on the radio? Just let it die already!

Your iPod list on the other hand, is very intriguing. I've never heard of Andrew Bird before, what type of music does he play? And yay! for the Pouges. I've loved them since I first heard If I Should Fall from Grace with God

They are playing "Your Body" at least three times a day still. At least on the station I'm listening to. John Mayer will live forever, it seems. >:|

Andrew Bird (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/stores/artist/glance/-/183978/104-0257519-8858321) is kind of hard to pin down, musically speaking. He's a violinist, and a former member of The Squirrel Nut Zippers, and this band has lots of violin and a sort of rollicking, anything-goes quality about it. A little bit of a retro feel, but not as committed to retro as SNZ were. I love him muchly. (Plus he's just criminally cute, in that pale dark-haired way I love so much.)

And yes! The Pogues! I've been listening to them since high school, but every now and then I go through a phase where I listen obsessively. I do this with early U2 stuff and a few other bands from my youth as well, but clearly, now I am in Pogues mode.
