LOOK IT IS A NON-HP-RELATED POST

A while ago--a couple of years now--I was part of a community that made top-five lists. Some of my current friendslist was involved, in fact, and I think fondly of this community, often. Man, we top-fived the hell out of everything, and had a terrific time doing it. Someone posted a theme, and then we all ponied up our lists, and it was one of the best times of my spotty career as a blogger.

So it was with ineffable delight that I saw this meme tonight on resonant8's journal:

Ask me for "top five" lists of pretty much anything, and I will list you my top five of that thing or things.

Which is sort of the exact opposite of that old, long-dead community, but I was stricken with longing anyway. Don't you want to play? Say you do. Come ooooonnnnn.

Top five book characters you've had crushes on.

1. Laurie Laurence from Little Women - it took me years to forgive Jo for turning him down.


2. Frederick Wentworth from Persuasion - double-super-reinforced by Ciaran Hinds's portrayal in the movie.


3. Remus Lupin from Harry Potter - Yummy, yummy, yummy. I could get used to the Wolfsbane.


4. Charlie Bucket from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Maybe my first. You never forget your first love, you know.


5. Peter Wimsey in the Dorothy Sayers detective series, but specifically in her later books. The Peter who is in love with Harriet Vane, that is the Peter I love best. I would like someone to love me like that.

Top five things to eat that they had in a place where you used to live, but don't have in the place you live now.
You know, most things I can get here, muffalettas and fried oysters and things like that. It's just a few things that are not to be found, at all, as far as I can tell.

Hahahahaha, yes, of course I have a list! It is sort of pet dependent--that is, the type and personality of the pet would dictate the name I chose. But here are a few of my favorites. I am am longing to have pets with these names.
