The other day, I said, in preface to a whole nother idea, that I'd like it if we were sometimes allowed to act like kids, do things like dance in the aisles of stores. And then! This morning I stopped at the grocery store to buy my lunch. It's almost deserted at 7:30 am, a maze of stockers and boxes, not so many customers, and it's quiet so that you can hear the muzac, which at my grocery is not actually muzac at all but rather classic rock/pop, and there she was, this dignified-looking middle-aged African-American woman, bouncing along the frozen vegetables to "White Wedding" like she really meant it, and I beamed so hard at her that she probably thought I was unhinged, but I absolutely could not help it.

I asked for it and I got it, and how often does that happen?
