Well, wait. Actually, I mostly dislike having curly hair, because I like my hair smooth, and living here in Georgia, with humidity so much lower than it ever was in Louisiana, I've found that smooth hair is an achievable dream, and therefore I am going to achieve it as much as possible.

What I do like, though, is that on the very few days I've been in a fuck it, I don't feel like taking three minutes to straighten this mess look, and just crunch it up with some anti-frizz gunk and straighten the bangs, I get this overwhelmingly positive response. It seems the world loves curly hair! And wants to discuss its love for curly hair! In detail! And the world wants to know how I got my hair to do that, did I get a perm? And I'm not used to people making a fuss over my appearance, because if ever there was an appearance designed to blend into the woodwork it'd be mine, and don't actually like that attention much, but here's a strange thing: the curly hair feels almost like a costume (even though it's my hair, my hair more really than the hair I wear every day), and I don't mind so much when it's that aspect of me that's under discussion.

:::

And something else weird. For most of my life my hair's been wavy, not curly, and it's only in the past maybe two or three years that the texture of it's completely changed. Maybe it's the grey growing in? Has anyone else experienced this phenomenon?
