I had the most vivid dream last night.
Jun. 25th, 2005 11:22 amIn my dream, I was a dwarf/little person of the hobbity sort, earthy contentment and all. I somehow angred a giant--how I angered him is not in the scope of the dream--and he came rampaging after me, and the dream consisted of my running away, to find refuge with some kind person, always a step ahead of the giant armies stamping around looking for me, always escaping alone and finding someone else to help me. No one seemed especially afraid of the giant except for me, but no one was especially eager to incur his further stompy wrath, either. And I kept running.
Eventually, I came to the conclusion that I had to stop running and face the giant, just wait for him to find me and take my medicine, whatever it happened to be. As I did so, the creature I was with, a catlike bipedal sort of creature, produced a set of CDs, and I understood that the CDs contained my story, and that my story wasn't nearly over yet. I was wondering what this meant--if I was meant to keep running for a while longer, or if I was due for different adventures--and how everything ended, and I was just reaching for the folio thingy to find out when my cats knocked over a stepladder and woke me up.

I've been thinking about this dream, about the colors that suffused it (greens and golds, mostly, with nighttime black thrown in). I almost never remember my dreams! And this one has been with me all morning long, that feeling of scrambling just ahead of the foot about to squash me, and the friendly nonchalance of my rescuers.

Anyway. Enough of this running around; I'm off to do some real work.

(I saw those at Target, by the way, and wanted to nab a pair so that we could be across-the-country twins, but they only had size 10.)
