I took a nap for the first time in many weeks this afternoon, and thanks to a dream I had, I've spent the rest of the evening fighting off the urge to put on rockstar makeup and take pictures, like a thirteen-year old. I mean, I'm not even sure I have anything that'll pass for rockstar makeup these days. Not to mention the sheer indignity of it; as we all know, my entire life is centered around maintaining my rigid standards of dignity at all times.

To distract myself, I spent some time working up a little project that I was discussing with amelia_eve and laurelwood the other day: a Harry Potter Soduku board. I picked Mary Grandpre's chapter illustrations because they were familiar to me, and I spent plenty of time working it out, making sure that it was actually workable, and discovered in the process that it's much harder for me to work puzzles like this using pictures rather than numbers. (I finally resorted to filling in the blanks with names rather than pictures.) If anyone feels like taking the time to play around with it, I'd be interested to hear if you responded differently.

Awww. You know, while I was making this I kept thinking to myself, you know, this is exactly the sort of thing I'd do for one of aubrem's postcard exchanges, and missing them very much. So you can think of this as a tribute to you! :D

Waaaah- we have no printer, and I want to do this RIGHT NOW. I'll have Dennis print it out at work on Monday, though, and see how I do. Thank you for making it an easy one! It's interesting that it's harder for you with pictures than it is with numbers. I wonder if it'll be the same with me, or if the pictures will be easier. This is such a cool idea, and so beautifully executed.

I double dog dare you to put on rockstar makeup, or at least Photoshop or Paint some over a handy photo. I'll do it too and we can see which of us makes the more convincing Pat Benatar!
