If you ever need incentive to stay on a diet, make sure a photo of you from the back is posted in a magazine. IT IS ALL THE INCENTIVE YOU WILL EVER NEED.

But! If you can just accidentally set your ipod on random, it will find music you loved a few years ago and haven't listened to in a while, and hearing music you've loved and drifted away from in that sneak-attack way will make you feel better. Well, marginally better, anyway. A tiny bit better.

A snapshot taken from the back, encountered by chance in a stack of a friend's recently-developed photos would be inspiration. But having one posted in a magazine? I can only imagine that it's the inspiration equivalent of a drill sergeant barking out, "Drop and give me 20!"

But yay for the sneak attack of music. It's great when that happens.

Yep, and it's also great motivation for workouts. I wasn't going to do one last night, on account of the usual things -- too much to do, didn't feel like it -- but then I remembered that photo, and limbered up with no further diffiulties. :/
