Ephemera

1. I got my property tax bills in for this year. (Thank God, by the way, that I pay my taxes in escrow.) Yes, bills in the plural, for apparently I have purchased not one property but two! :O The property my house sits on, which is a lot about 200 feet deep, and the property behind it, which extends another 50 feet or so. Huh.

2. Last week, after admitting to myself that I have not nearly enough self-discipline to lose weight if I'm the only person I'm accountable to, I joined Weight Watchers. In the past week, I have been eating constantly to meet my daily food requirements (and I won't even mention the staggering amount of water I've consumed!), to the point where I am feeling that I may never be hungry again -- and yet I have lost five pounds in one week. :O This eating healthy thing! It works! Who knew?

3. This was Barbecue Week at my work, and after a frustrating week of late nights spent unknotting organizational snarls, it's over. Today, I am out on my porch typing and sipping lemonade, and I will do nothing for the rest of the day but maybe go get some curry for dinner. I deserve a lazy day, and I'm happy to get it. So there.

Isn't it amazing how eating right for your body works? I'm eating five times a day and losing weight. I'm so happy it's working for you, and you feel good about it.

It does seem to be working! Who knew that eating the way everyone's said for years that you're supposed to eat would help me out? :O

And I'm glad it's working for you too!

If you pay property taxes for two separate properties, then it's only fair that the extra 50 feet in back should hold the mother of all treehouses. I think we should get cracking on that right away.

And hurrah for constant eating = 5 lb weight loss! Sounds like the glory of 0-POINT vegetables must be figuring prominently!

I think you're right! I've been dying to see this exhibit (http://dougnewby.com/architecture/treehouses.asp) anyway, but now I have a personal reason to see it!

Hmmm. Actually, the space has a couple of big old trees in it. I may design me a treehouse just for fun.

And no, I haven't been scarfing down the 0-point veggies! I have enough points to kill -- and they really want you to kill all of your suggested daily points -- that I can pretty much eat whatever I want, as long as I balance it and don't eat too much. What this means is that instead of eating fast food (or other restaurant food), I'm cooking at home, and if I do that, I can have veggies in, say, an omelette, or a slice of pizza, or something like that. :D I should've done this years ago.

Did you buy a second house and I missed it?! *Confused*.

PS I love JKR.

hahahahaha, I hadn't heard the news until a friend texted me! I thought it was pretty awesome, too, though a lot of people on my friendslist are complaining. Some people will never be happy, I guess.

Nope, no other house, I'm still not finished with the first one. This is just a separate property that was sort of grandfathered into mine because due to its location no one else can really access it but me. Or was there something else that was unclear?

Also: Hi! I've missed you!

No, some people are never happy. I can see the homophobes being up in arms, but the slashers?

I've been lurking on lj lately rather than completely absent. I still read all your posts, I promise. That's why I thought OMG how did I miss T buying another house?! Anyway, I'm still around, just spending a lot of time reading SPN fics when I'm online :D. What do you think of the new series? I'm really enjoying hedonistic, doomed Dean.

I'm away this weekend but maybe we can IM a week on Sunday?

The funny thing is that the people are complaining loudest are the ones who complained about the "heteronormativity" of the series. Weird, I call it.

I've only seen the first of the latest season of SPN. I need to catch up -- maybe I'll do it this weekend. But even though I've only seen the one episode so far, I'm kind of digging every-fuck-is-my-last Dean, too!

November 4 for IM, you mean? I don't see why not! :)
