Oh, I booked time off work as soon as the date of the Royal Nightmare was announced. I even considered trumping up a visit to relatives abroad, I was so determined to avoid it - but luckily my boss is very understanding, and let me off anyhow. Normally I love working when big news events happen, but I *just can't express* much I abhor the royals. Just the run-up was like drip drip torture. Heartwarming (*sick noises*) titbits of news were released every day: an "ordinary grandmother" was chosen to make the cake; a twentysomething harpist was "plucked" from obscurity to play at the reception; even the details of the goddamn trumpet fanfare were announced with huge pomp and ceremony. Like we were supposed to GIVE A FUCK - ARRGHHHH! Anyway, I really got lucky taking last week off - missed the Pope's funeral too. Election's next, but I love elections so that's OK.
I'm thinking about JS&MN a lot. I'm still coming down from it, and don't quite know what to say yet. I probably will post about it, but even if I don't we must discuss it anyhow. On IM, maybe. But now I recall I owe you an email, so maybe there. Thank you for encouraging me to read it, T.
