Snail-mail jackpot!
My busy week caught up to me yesterday, and yesterday my body said to me, at about 3:30 pm, "I have just about had enough." And then it shut down for the night, with the result that I don't remember much about the rest of my day at work except that I was grateful to seize upon an envelope-stuffing project to finish up the day. (Brain no work? Headache to end all headaches? Stuff envelopes!)
I don't remember much about last night, either. I just slept. I think I dealt with the pets a couple of times while still mostly asleep, fed them and took the dogs out on my autopetomatic setting, and just slept and slept, about twelve hours altogether, until it was time to get up to go to work at the bookstore today. It was a good sleep; I dreamt about my boyfriend Andrew Bird, and what could be sweeter than that?
But here's the thing. I don't even remember picking my mail up off the floor when I got home yesterday, and I must have done it, because when I got up this morning I realized I had not one but two Snapes waiting for me, discreetly packaged and wholly delightful.
The first one is by
isiscolo, and it makes me giggle whenever it catches my eye. It's a stand-up Snape profile hung with spiders! Lots of spiders! *shivers* Can't you totally picture Snape in a few years as a crazy spider guy? (Like maybe Zelda and Chantal in Sandman, I mean.) It lost something in the scanning, so I took a picture of it instead.

The second one, by
rexluscus, is simply gorgeous. It's so richly textured that I was afraid it wouldn't scan well, but it did fine under the scanner. If you click on the image below, it'll take you to a larger image -- the more detail you can see, the more you can appreciate how beautiful (in an menacing, Snapey sort of way) it is. As an added bonus, the eyes are pursuant, which always gives me a thrill. :D

Tonight I am a lucky, happy, well-rested girl.

I used a padded envelope, because I was nervous about it traveling well.

:? Maybe we can share him, though. I will be glad to have him part time.

But I suppose the part time thing could work. We'll have to work out a schedule.

I'm glad you got caught up on your sleep! Neat trick there, caring for the pet brigade without even waking up fully.

I love my Snapes too. They are both sitting out on my desk and have been since I got them because I can't bear to put them away.
