I'm finally finished with my Snape diorama. It was more fun than I've had for ages, from start to finish, and excepting only the stool, which let's not talk about the stool, okay? It's a teeny bit messy, but overall, I think it turned out okay.

First of all, the outside. If I had to do it over again, I'd change things up a little -- only one dormer -- because the way I've set it up here doesn't really coincide with the plan of Spinner's End I have in my head. But screw that, man. I kind of like the two dormers.

The wallpapery wall is actually a wall inside the house, a hallway leading into Snape's room. I didn't bother to do the rest of the house for this one. Maybe one day.

It's the scene Harry saw in Snape' pensieve, the one where Snape's zapping flies with his wand, which Snape is actually holding in this photo, but because of the angle, and because everything's so low-contrast, you can't really see it here.

In this photo, you can see the wand better.

From the hallway, looking in. Does Snape look pissed off and a little anxious at the same time? Because I totally think of him looking that way as a teenager.

He's posable, to a degree -- he can't, for example, bend enough to sit. Don't feel sorry for him, though. He'd kill himself if he tried to sit on his stool.

Note the cauldrons. The potions ingredients are stowed in boxes under his bed. :D

From this angle, you can see the stool that ate an entire night of my life. And also the enormity of Snape's nose.

And that's that! Except that if you're curious to see how it fits together, there are a few more pictures and explanations in this gallery. And I had so much fun that I feel a little sorry it's over.

Absolutely stunning! Having done some minature work in the days before my bifocals, I am doubly impressed! The Edward Gorey prints are perfect! You have capture young Snape better than any artist I have ever seen!!! In a word. . .

WOW!!!!!!!!!

Awww, thank you so much! I love projects like this, and when I think I might have spent a little too much time working everything out, comments like yours make the effort totally worthwhile. :D

LOVE THIS. The colors (or lack thereof) are so striking and wonderful. And the fact that there's wallpaper on one outside wall, yay. Twist-tie joints! I really like how you did the patterns, setting them to repeat and all; excellent idea. And real feather!

You diorama people are just too awesome. :D

Did I see somewhere that aubrem was trying to conince you to do one too? Because I would be thrilled if it were true that you were making one.

I'm so glad you stopped by to take a look! *beams*

Well, between yours and Laurelwood's, and the rumor of Amelia Eve's, plus Aubrem's poking, the temptation was irresistable, really. I'm almost finished with it, yay, except for working out the camera's hissyfits whenever I try to upload pictures.

Oh god, Cammy, I totally meant to leave a comment for this when I first saw it but I was rushing out the door for work. But. This is so beautiful and insanely detailed and wonderful. =)

Oh, this is lovely!

Your Snape needs a girlfriend... may I suggest one of Dame Darcy's Dolls (http://www.damedarcy.com/products/dolls.htm)?

A really awesome and fun project!

Hahahahahahahaa! Perfect! I think teenaged Snape would've been improved by a Goth girlfriend or two, actually. :)

(and thanks, and sorry for the delayed response!)
