Question

Can anyone tell me why I am up at nearly one in the morning reading Television Without Pity recaps of "House," a show I have never actually watched?

No, I thought not.

Perhaps because you should get round to watching House? Seriously, the first couple of episodes are a bit so-so, but after that it gets really good. Another incentive - House/Wilson slash.

Mmmm, House/Wilson--I was thinking that the recaps actually read a lot like fanfiction, and so reading the slash would seem sort of, you know, natural. I would also like to see me some House/Foreman, yes I would.

A while ago, [livejournal.com profile] onthecontrary posted the first episodes from season 1, and I'm sorry I didn't download them then, but maybe I'll do it soon. I even get Fox (I think), so possibly this would be a show I could actually watch on television right when it came on! What a novel concept.

Oh, I will read *any* fic with Foreman - though Foreman/Chase is my favourite - but sadly there is very little. House/Wilson and House/Cameron (big yawn) are the main pairings. The fic is of high quality generally though, which is something.

OH MY GOD THAT IS **EXACTLY** HOW I GOT HOOKED ON 7TH HEAVEN. DAMN YOU, SARA M.

At least "House" is supposed to be a good show.

*SHAKES FIST OF DEATH AT SARA M*

Yeah, they make fun of it, of course, all the way through. But you can tell that they do it with love. Except in the case of Cameron. Man, they sure do hate her.

House is just that good. Its magnetic powers are amazing to behold -- not to mention, of course, that the leads' acting is what really makes it stand out; TWoP doesn't even get close to the humor. Or to the ick factor, actually, but I don't mind missing that so much.

Also, I hope you're caught up with this season, because the new season's first episode airs on Tuesday at nine.

I am not caught up yet, but I still have four or five days! Surely I will make it by then!

That's what I keep telling myself -- I caught on late in the season, so I've only seen about two-thirds of last season's episodes, as they were reaired over the summer. So of course I had to buy the DVD, and now I'm trying to convince myself that no really, I can totally watch about seven hours before Tuesday.

Hope you've got your seven hours done!

I'm caught up on the recaps, but I figure I'm only going to have time to actually watch one episode, and I feel like I have to watch it. It's the episode "Three Stories," and I'm choosing that one because the recap was so incredibly hard to follow. I understand the premise, but not how it fits together, and I figure it'll make much more sense in the watching.

Actually, between the original airings and the summer reruns, there were only four eps I hadn't seen, so I did get them done on time!

"Three Stories" is definitely the best choice to watch completely. It's really not like the other episodes, and it can be hard to get a hang of in the beginning (Carmen Electra? Drug addict? They catch the dog? What?). The whole episode is surreal, but amazing -- I think it's one of my favorites.

Did you catch the new episode last night, or are you planning on downloading it to watch later?

I did catch "Three Stories!" It hangs together much better on screen than it did in the recap. It was pretty pyrotechnically dazzling, actually.

And I saw the premiere last night as well! It wasn't as astonisingly good as "Three Stories," but I still liked it an awful lot.
