A conversation you could only have in the deep south

D (on phone): ...Is C there? Oh, okay--could you leave a note on her desk to let her know I called? Thanks.

D (to me): I don't even know who that was. What is some guy doing at C's desk? Maybe it was Z working on her computer.

Me: Well, did he have a thick accent?

D: No! But Z doesn't have an accent.

Me: D, he talks like a cast member of The Dukes of Hazzard.

D: Yeah, but so? That's not an accent, really.

Me: O_o

DUDE. You can have conversations like that in Rhode Island. Except replace Dukes of Hazzard with bastard child of Boston and Brooklyn.
