woodyinvincible will be pleased to hear that you thought that dog was cute--I think he was maybe a little bewildered by all the fear and hostility!
1. You come visit me, and I will arrange an introduction. Luckily, Olive is the braver of my cats; you'll only have to visit me for a day or so for her to come out from under the kitchen sink and say hello. (But you will have to stay for a block of time, at least overnight; last night a friend of mine who's been to my house several times asked, "so do you have one cat or two? Because I've never actually seen them or anything and so I forget.")
2. I LOVE both of them. In the books they weren't nearly so delightful--just background noise--but in the movie, they steal every single scene they're in. I want them to sleep in a big bed in front of my fireplace.
