I think it's really more true that you have to find the right people for your found family than that those people have to be single; there were several couples in my Baton Rouge crowd. The problem for me is not finding the right people but getting them all to the same place. We are scattered all over the country, me and the people I would ideally be able to spend the rest of my life with.
An encapsulated version of this story is that I suggested to laurelwood that we have a livejournal weekend and pick some of our favorite people to spend the weekend with. The problem is that I can't imagine everyone actually getting to one place to spend a weekend.
