Have you seen How I Met Your Mother? I hadn't, until early in the summer, when I downloaded it and watched it, all of it, at the behest of A Friend. Please allow me to advise you that HIMYM suffers very much from marathon viewing; it's clever and goofy fun when you take each episode individually, but man oh man, does it get repetitive when you watch many episodes a day for many days.

Not that I would do that! That would be stupid, right?

Anyway, there's this one episode where Ted and Marshall, in a flashback, head out on a college road trip, and the only music available is The Proclaimers' I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles), because that cassette is stuck in Marshall's tape player. Look, here is that scene.

I only mention this because, well, hey, guess what happened to me this weekend!

I'm thinking it's a short somewhere, because suddenly five buttons (out of about twenty) aren't working on my car stereo: the two seek buttons, two of the station preset buttons, and... the eject button on the CD player, which I don't have it nearly so bad as Marshall, because I can toggle between the CD and the radio (although WOE I will have to tune manually if I want to listen to that classic pop station!) and the MP3 player jack. But if I want to listen to a CD, I will be listening to Georgette Heyer's The Nonesuch (uploaded for your listening pleasure, or masochistic desire to share my pain, whichever, I'm not picky) for the foreseeable future. Now, I do love me some Georgette Heyer, and I suppose it could absolutely have been worse, considering some of the CDs I've fed that player, but still.
