(10) winter bedding
Nov. 10th, 2009 08:14 pmSince I can't sleep without being swathed in fabric, and since I live in the south, and since I can't sleep when I get hot, summertime is sort of a minefield as far as sleep goes, and I look forward to the chilly days of fall, when I can get out my down blanket and my heavyweight quilt (no match for my grandmother's 50-lb homemade ones, but still), and even if the flannel sheets have to wait for actual winter, it's sublime to snuggle down under all those toasty layers.
Of course, the south being what it is, no sooner do I change the bedding than the temperature rockets up thirty degrees, but I know it will only be a few days before I'm snuggling down again, and so I can kick the covers down to the sheets with equanimity.
