O merciful God of Technology, I thank thee most humbly.

I had a long call-the-waaahhhmbulance entry to write up, but because I wanted to post it under a special filter and livejournal in its infinite wisdom would not let me create this new filter while I was working, I've had time to reconsider and have since decided to abandon that entry, and instead will just say that there is an uneven seam in the concrete in our warehouse that I seem completely incapable of avoiding. I step half on and half off the seam, my ankle gives way, and I go sprawling. This has happened three times in the past month, and today's episode left my knee throbbing so badly (not to mention swollen! oops, too late, I've mentioned it) that I ended up taking ibuprofen so I could concentrate on my work.

It's a grievous burden sometimes, being the clumsiest person in the world. But on the other hand, I'm keeping the warehouse guys amused with the spewings of vile epithets that these accidents inevitably trigger. I look so butter-wouldn't-melt that it's a shock to hear the things that I'm capable of saying, I guess; but at least I'm making an effort to entertain the troops.

And also: I can't be bothered with that really long woe-is-me entry now because I am just too pleased to be truly woeful. See, today I got home, and my replacement laptop-chassis was unexpectedly waiting for me (unexpectedly because the thing only shipped on like Tuesday), and now that I've added the hard drive and the memory and connected the monitor, it is as though I never drowned my motherboard at all! So nice, so very very nice.
