Snail-mail jackpot!
Oct. 21st, 2006 08:28 pmMy busy week caught up to me yesterday, and yesterday my body said to me, at about 3:30 pm, "I have just about had enough." And then it shut down for the night, with the result that I don't remember much about the rest of my day at work except that I was grateful to seize upon an envelope-stuffing project to finish up the day. (Brain no work? Headache to end all headaches? Stuff envelopes!)
I don't remember much about last night, either. I just slept. I think I dealt with the pets a couple of times while still mostly asleep, fed them and took the dogs out on my autopetomatic setting, and just slept and slept, about twelve hours altogether, until it was time to get up to go to work at the bookstore today. It was a good sleep; I dreamt about my boyfriend Andrew Bird, and what could be sweeter than that?
But here's the thing. I don't even remember picking my mail up off the floor when I got home yesterday, and I must have done it, because when I got up this morning I realized I had not one but two Snapes waiting for me, discreetly packaged and wholly delightful.
( And here they are. )
Tonight I am a lucky, happy, well-rested girl.
