I went looking for some of yours, and everyone else was there before me, but I loved reading your snippets! I've actually loved this meme, full stop. It's been a fun one.

Gnawed Grass and Thistles is a post-Reichenbach-Falls-or-whatever-I-decide-its-BBCverse-equivalent-is fic modeled very loosely (and equally embarrassingly) on Wes Anderson's the Fantastic Mr Fox, wherein Sherlock tries to fit himself back into John's life after returning from his adventures abroad and finds that a lot of things have changed.

"Oh, right, so I'm supposed to've left the place a shrine to your sacred name?"

It takes Sherlock an unprecedented five seconds to realize: that was exactly what he'd been expecting.

Heh. My completion rate isn't especially impressive, but this is one of the ones I feel anxious to finish.

I don't even care that I know so little about its canon. I want to know what's in "things that scare me."

There's very little to this one, and I'm afraid that what there is will be unedifying to anyone not familiar with canon, so feel free to choose another one if you like! And in the meantime, here everything I have of it, aside from the song lyrics on which the story's (in theory) based:

When Sam thinks about it hard enough, he can remember the person who went to Stanford, wanted to marry Jessica and be a lawyer. He doesn't think about it often, since he's got other things on his mind, but he'll get an email from Rebecca or see some kid in a Stanford t-shirt, and he'll remember what it's like, even with the blood and fury thrumming through him, a rhythmic buzz like a feedbacky guitar solo on the feedbacky Impala stereo.
