octoberstory isn't, maybe, the very first friend I made online, but she's most certainly my longest-lived and dearest online friend, the kind who over time becomes a friend, without any qualifiers or conditions. We've known each other, now, for just shy of a decade, and our friendship has changed over the years, from lj commenting to hours IMing every night to hours on the phone each week, to visits which often coincided with HP book releases so we could read together, up all night, reading silently in the same room.

She's driving my way now, and she'll be here for a week or so. It was purely a happy accident that her visit's overlapping the release of the first DH movie, but we're taking advantage of it, obviously. It'll be the first time, I think, we've ever seen an HP movie in a theater together. One more first in a long line of them, with I hope many to come.

I just hope Leory doesn't try to kill her.
