Here are a few of my (recent) favorite things:

Amazing needlepoint -- I have neither the patience, nor the skill (nor, actually, the color sense) that great needlework takes, and I'm in awe of the experts. Be sure to click on the whole-work images, because they link to details and photos of the backs of the works -- which are works of art in themselves.

Miniature pastries -- delicious, delicious. I could maybe manage these in sculpey, but in actual food? ahahahahahaha.

Bookshelf porn -- I do love me some porn that's legal the world over. And I have a huge kink for this particular brand!

Etch-a-Sketch iPad sleeve -- I never wanted an iPad -- actually, am fundamentally opposed to Apple's lovely-but-seriously-overpriced products and their market-devouring business strategy -- but okay, okay, now I can get on board.

Convertible laptop -- so pretty and practical! And coming on the heels of Gilly's latest casualty (my laptop's power cable), I'm even more tempted than I normally would be. It's a fine thing, in that case, that this baby's not actually been released yet, right? Right?

OMFG, Bookshelf Porn makes me wish I could live somewhere permanently enough to justify building funky bookshelves. My current ones are collapsible and stackable, which I used to think was pretty nifty, but suddenly that's just not enough.

Also: I'm stunned beyond words by the needlepoint, particularly "Carol." Thanks for pointing it out!

I have some collapsible, stackable bookcases as well, but my bookcases on the whole are sort of mismatchy -- I just pick them up as I need them, and the books are spread out all over the house, so I don't have much need to try and match them up. My book porn obsession is with all-books-in-one-space layouts, but really, I love all of it. I just love seeing how other folks manage their books, is all. The arrangement of objects in space: it's how my voyeurism plays out. :)

Carol is amazing, isn't it? I think its the subject that makes it stand out -- using a very exacting and unforgiving medium, the artist does a terrific job portraying Carol's idiosyncrasy.
