With just a few minutes to go before the end of the day, I only have time to tell you about one thing I did today, but that's okay, because aside from a quick trip to the mall, I only did the one thing: spent all day trying to bring my computer back from the hideous corruption wrought by the wedded-in-evil Securom and EA Games. What company is so obsessed with game piracy that they are totally willing to alienate their paying customers by fucking their computers up with antipiracy software that is nearly impossible to eradicate and as an added bonus trashes basic gameplay? EA Games, that's who. *shakes fists in impotent rage*

The best thing is that now that I've spent a solid week uninstalling, eradicating, reconfiguring, and reinstalling, I kind of never want to see the game ever again, but feel compelled to play to make up for all the trouble. Go me.

The one other thing I did today was buy my niece a glamorous outfit for her birthday, which activity was much more fun.

I figure this is the last year I can buy stuff like this for her until she turns like sixteen and I won't do it then because no doubt she'll despise my taste in clothes at sixteen. (I mean, when I was sixteen I would rather have died than wear anything any of my relatives bought for me -- kind of still feel that way, to tell the truth.) But isn't this pretty, all sparkly and ridiculous? I love it. There's a teeny little hobo bag to go with it, too.

And that was two things after all, and good night.

The outfit is gorgeous. I would gladly wear that fabric myself!

That outfit is simply adorable. And speaking as one whose niece is now sixteen, they come back in a different format. You won't particularly get to choose things for her, but you can take her to all the shops her mother has no patience for. When you only do it a few times a year, it's fun and exotic to dig through the teeny-bopper stuff.

You're the cool aunt with the art supplies and fun pets, and don't you forget it.

That's SUCH a cute outfit!! I'm picturing it with little sparkly shoes (like the cute ones at Target).

My 7-year-old girl is a total tomboy, with muddied shoes and jeans and t-shirts, but every so often she lets me dress her up :)

PRETTY. *_*

Man, I want a niece in the worst way. Brother and wife are really slacking, here.

I would feel self-conscious in it, I think -- but I would admire it from afar on anyone else wearing it!

That's good to hear -- and it's true, now that I think about it, that if someone had said to me, hey, pick something out and I'll buy it for you, I would absolutely have gotten behind it. And I kind of like digging through teen stuff, and it'll be kind of nice to have an excuse to buy it. :D

Target is a dangerous place for me when it comes to clothes. And the kids' cloths are strokably cut. I especially love their girls' print tees that have a Tord Boontje feel to them (whether he actually designs them or not).

I'm waiting to see whether Gracie turns into a Shopoholic like her mom, or decides to rebel against her and be completely uninterested in fashion. I think either would make me happy, for totally different reasons. And I'm glad your daughter indulges you! :)
