For the birthday girl
From the Desk of Miranda Priestley
somniesperus:
Perhaps you think that the date gives you some rights and special privileges beyond those you enjoy every other day of the year? It does not. Today may be your birthday, but that does not mean that I don't need to speak with Karl and Giorgio; nor that I do not expect the story about the color veridian on my desk at five, which as of this writing is in five minutes; nor that I need reservations for seven and you have yet to confirm them; nor that I have not seen today's book and I am leaving in four minutes.
I have a hope -- I live on it -- that one day you will not disappoint me. You have two minutes left.
That is all.
Miranda
P.S. Happy birthday.

On second thought, perhaps that is not a word after all. But nevertheless.

When I first saw this post yesterday afternoon, it made no sense to me.
This evening, I saw it again, and it does.
