Christmas wish

It is Christmastime, which means that 'tis the season to receive half a dozen beefcake calendars via friends' email. As I flipped through the firemen one the other day, my office mate looking over my shoulder oohing and aahing while my own heart just went ho-hum, I wondered: okay, here's the Buff Firemen calendar, and there's the Brad Pitt solo calendar, and the Random Hot Italian Model calendar, but where oh where is the Pale Skinny Nerdy Dark-Haired Possibly Bespectacled Guy calendar? 'Cause that's what I really want.

I run true to form, you see. It's not only Harry Potter, though of course secretly HP is just my type. (I am so very predictable.) And I figure if there isn't a PSNDHPSG calendar floating around out there, and as far as I know, there isn't, then by gosh, I shall just have to make myself one.

I posted to my fandom lj this morning, for the first time in a year and a half. And due to the nature of the post, there were lots of comments, from total strangers and also people I've missed very much, and as they filled my inbox, I felt the irresistible pull of fandom, and at the same time the tremendous free-floating anxiety that characterized my last (active) months as a part of it. Thank goodness for this journal; just looking at my nice manageable friends page and my lovely friends is calming me down a little. *holds your hands tight*

Put me down for one of those PSNDHPSG (especially if some of the models can be extremely tall and gangly and have large noses) calendars as well. I'm as bored looking at beefcake as I am looking at those half-naked girls draped over classic cars. And if no such thing exists, well, surely between the two of us, we can cobble together something presentable. And if not, well, then there's always my "dogs made out of produce" calendar by those nice "play with your food" guys.

Are you talking about the people who made the book Dog Food?? Because I love them so! A calendar of theirs would be almost as good as a PSNDHPSG calendar, I have to say.

And hahahahahahahaaaa it seems we share about exactly the same fetish, because tall! And big-nosed! (Especially aquiline hook noses!) We should totally get together for this.

My ex-boy is an ultimate PSNDHPSG; last week he was all spruiced up - no glasses, manageable hair, suit - for mutual friends' wedding and everyone was saying to me, "Oh wow, he looks so handsome when he's not looking nerdy blah blah blah" and all I could do was sigh because they were all *wrong*; he looks so much better when he's himself. =)

Possibly I am just not picky enough, but I would settle for a calendar in which each month was a different theme, yeah? A Buff Fireman, a Policeman or two, a Brad Pitt, some French Rugby Players, and a Pale Nerdy Dark-Haired Programmer with Glasses. Possibly I should also make my own.

(And I was so surprised when your old-LJ colors showed up on my flist! I thought I'd accidentally reassigned them or something.)
