constance | (22) GPS systems

I got mine just in time for two road trips this weekend (don't you love when life works like this?), and I never have to be lost in my car again. For someone as obsessed as I am with orienting herself in her environment, this is a huge and exciting thing! And while I don't think I'll ever be able to give up the comfort of paper maps and atlases -- because as much as I love knowing where I am at any given moment, I also need to know within a larger context, be it citywide, nationwide, worldwide -- I do love that comforting, sometimes nagging voice (she says "recalculating" in such a reproving tone!) telling me where I need to go next.

Of course, I also kind of get off on being ordered around. I feel I need to factor that in somewhere.
