(24) new baby brothers
Once upon a time, my parents had a rescue greyhound. And then they had two. And then they had one again (Raleigh the fawn sadly is no longer with us -- he was ancient for a greyhound, and didn't make it through the spring :/ ). And my parents missed Raleigh, missed having a second dog in the house, and this week is my mother's birthday -- actually, today is my mother's birthday -- and this is her present.

I haven't met him yet, but I've been getting calls almost hourly, as I'm kept up to date in the assimilation saga. He once won a race! But only one! He ate an entire meat pie off the counter! He scared himself with the rolling chairs in the sunroom! My mom slept in the living room with him when he wouldn't stop whimpering the first night! My niece named him (well, they gave her a choice of three names, and she picked)! He has not even seen the cat, who is terrified after a trial with another dog (it turned out that the test model was maybe not so cat-friendly as first reported) and won't come out of my parents' bedroom!
I haven't met him, but I like him already.
