You know, I'm reminded of a letter to Miss Manners, years ago, from a person who wanted to know, basically, a polite way to tell people who told her she was looking great after slimming down to FUCK OFF because the reason why she lost a whole lot of weight was that she'd been diagnosed with terminal cancer. (I can't remember what MM's reply was, but I'd like to think that if ever there was an excuse for rudeness, that'd be it.)

You could always just recommend high stress and clinical depression to your well-wishers. *rolls eyes at them*
